Resident in Paris, British born Nathalie Shaw was appointed Solo Violin of the Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble (USA) in 2008. She is Artistic Director, and Co-Founder of the « Festival International de Musique de Chambre en Charente » in South-West France, founded in 2009 by the Shaw String Trio and holds a professorship at the Conservatoire Darius Milhaud in Paris, France.
She also appears regularly as solo violin of ensembles such as Projet Bloom and Ensemble Stravinsky. Following a world premiere for Solo Violin in the 2007 Lucerne Festival, Nathalie was subsequently invited by Pierre Boulez to perform this work in “Le Louvre invite Pierre Boulez” series, Paris.
Nathalie is a seasoned recitalist and concerto soloist across Europe and the USA with a wide-ranging repertoire. She has premièred and broadcast solo works by numerous composers and has a specialist knowledge and experience of contemporary music.
