Resident in Paris, British born Nathalie Shaw was appointed Solo Violin of the Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble (USA) in 2008. She is Artistic Director, and Co-Founder of the « Festival International de Musique de Chambre en Charente » in South-West France, founded in 2009 by the Shaw String Trio. Nathalie currently holds a professorship at the Conservatoire Municipal Darius Milhaud (14th arrondissement, Paris) and was named “Citoyenne d’Honneur” of Angoulême (France) in 2016.
Recently, she was invited as guest concertmaster of the Aarhus Symfoniorkester in Denmark and was also solo violin for a chamber adaptation of Janacek’s « Cunning Little Vixen » at the Opera Bastille in Paris.
Nathalie was also invited as Musical Director for the “Saut Hermès” at the Grand Palais in Paris by Hermès International during this current season.
Nathalie is a seasoned recitalist and concerto soloist across Europe and the USA with a wide-ranging repertoire. She has premièred and broadcast solo works by numerous composers and has a specialist knowledge and experience of contemporary music.
